Research

Applied research is at the heart of bringing evidence-based practice for people looking to use psychological ideas in everyday life and in their communities. Research projects, publications and presentations include:

  • examining the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) and human machine interaction (HMI) within the therapeutic relationship in a range of digital therapies (SAFPAC conference 2023),

  • nature-based interventions for mild-moderate anxiety/depression (article available below)

  • a joint article with Ms Jess Walling, a young person on what it is like approaching talking therapy in recovery from a neurological spinal condition, available below.

Take Part

The research team at Psychological has recently begun an arts based youth participatory action research (YPAR) project looking at how children and young people understand emotions. We are currently recruiting schools in the UK who would like their students to take part, through a free 1.5h PSHE workshop, in the following age cohorts: year 6 and year 10.
